Tuesday 26th July
13:00 – 14:00 UK time
In celebration of Disability Pride Month, join us in this drawing session inspired by an artist widely regarded as the greatest colourist of the 20th century, Henri Matisse. Ill health in his final years restricted his mobility and prevented him from painting, so Matisse turned to a different medium. Unwilling to give up his creativity and with the help of his assistants, he began creating cut paper collages, or decoupage. While initially small in size, these pieces eventually transformed into murals or room-sized works.
This session is suitable for all levels. You’ll learn about the life and artistic work of Henri Matisse whilst creating your own work inspired by the artist.
