PAINTING VEGETABLES – CREATING FORM & SHINE

In this session you’ll be painting a series of spring green asparagus and rich purple aubergines. Your teacher Jan will show you how to create form and you will explore using your paints to portray surface shine.

 

THURSDAY 10TH JUNE – 6.30PM

PAINTING FRUIT – COLOUR & SHAPE

This class is all about capturing colour and crafting interesting shapes. You’ll develop skills in composition and learn to create bright paintings in a wide range of colour hues.

 

THURSDAY 17TH JUNE – 6.30PM

PAINTING FOOD – COMPOSITION & TEXTURE

In this session your teacher Jan will support you in bringing foods together. You’ll paint a tomato, then some cheese and finally, you’ll bring the two together to paint a colourful sandwich, combining composition with the application of colour and texture.

 

You will need:

  • Pencil (preferably 2B or softer)
  • Rubber
  • Black pen or biro
  • Paper towel
  • Water
  • Watercolour paints
  • Paint brush (round and approximately size 10)
  • Watercolour paper
  • White wax. This could be a white candle, tealight or a crayon (OPTIONAL)

Join us as we explore rolling hills and Mediterranean villages. Starting with a classic landscape, your teacher will teach you how to create a sense of distance and perspective in a series of hills and valleys. Next, you’ll explore looking through alleys and walking under bridges and finally you’ll be capturing the charm and vivid colour of villages perched on the edge turquoise water. Immerse yourself in colour for an hour each week and develop your creative skillset.

 

THURSDAY 24TH JUNE – 6:30PM GMT

PAINTING HILLS – FORM & DISTANCE 

In this session you’ll be capturing the beauty of two sets of rolling hills. Your teacher will show you how to create depth of field and explore ways in which to portray a sense of distance in your painting.

 

THURSDAY 1ST JULY – 6:30PM GMT

LOOKING THROUGH – FRAMING & PERSPECTIVE

This class will take you for a walk through a beautiful Mediterranean village. As you peer down alleys and stroll beneath bridges, you’ll develop skills in framing your image and learn to create pockets of detail in your work.

 

THURSDAY 8TH JULY – 6:30PM GMT

BRIGHT BUILDINGS – COLOUR & FORM

In this session your teacher will support you in capturing all the charm of a colourful village perched on the side of a mountain. You’ll explore the use of bright colour and come away with beautiful paintings and a better understanding of effective composition.

 

You will need:

  • Pencil (preferably 2B or softer)
  • Rubber
  • Black pen or biro
  • Paper towel
  • Water
  • Watercolour paints
  • Paint brush (round and approximately size 10)

Join us for a series of creative drawing sessions. This series is all about conveying movement and energy in your drawing. You’ll tackle a wide range of subjects from vehicles to athletes with a primary focus on capturing a sense of movement in your work.

 

MONDAY 28TH JUNE – 6:30PM (GMT)

ANIMALS IN MOTION – POSITIONING & MOVEMENT 

In this session you’ll be learning how to put bounce into your subjects’ step. Your teacher Jan will teach you to compose drawings of a running ostrich, jumping monkey and leaping dog and you will learn to inject a sense of movement into each piece.

 

MONDAY 5TH JULY – 6:30PM (GMT)

MOVING VEHICLES – PERSPECTIVE & BLUR

In this session you’ll learning how to convey the rapid movement of vehicles. From trains to race cars, you will explore blurring detail and the importance of perspective.

 

MONDAY 12TH JULY– 6:30PM (GMT)

PEOPLE IN ACTION – SHAPES & TENSION 

This class will teach you the key principles of figure drawing whilst focussing on creating tension in the body. You’ll be focussing on strong shapes and diving deeper into the use of negative space.

 

You will need:

  • Paper
  • Pencil – preferably 2B or softer (i.e., 3,4,5,6,7, or 8B). The darker the line the better!
  • Biro
  • Rubber

Join us for a weekly reset with this series of Mindful Drawing sessions. These sessions are the perfect way to break up your day, combining drawing and breathing to absorb in the present moment. Your teacher will support you in centring yourself and exploring the creation of mandalas and pattern making in a safe and friendly space. You don’t need any experience to take part in these sessions and they are ideal for anyone looking for an opportunity to develop a calmer, more present frame of mind during the week.

 

TUESDAY 29TH JUNE – 1PM GMT

ENJOYING THE PROCESS – MARK MAKING & MANDALAS

This session will begin with a short breathing exercise as your teacher invites you to relax into the session. You’ll explore mark making and enjoy the guided creation of a mandala. You’ll come away from the class feeling relaxed and refreshed.

 

TUESDAY 6TH JULY – 1PM GMT

LETTING GO – PATTERN & BREATH WORK

In this class you will connect your breath with your drawing to facilitate an absorbed state of mind. You’ll enjoy pattern making and become fully immersed in the creation of shapes with your pencil.

 

TUESDAY 13TH JULY – 1PM GMT

MEDITATIVE DRAWING – PROCESS & LINE

Loose yourself in the process of creating evolving shapes and beautiful patterns. You won’t need any drawing experience at all and will be supported throughout the session by your teacher. Let go for an hour and enjoy the process of doodling pattern without any care for the end result.

 

You will need:

  • Paper
  • Two Pencils – preferably 2B or softer (i.e., 3,4,5,6,7, or 8B).
