LEARNING TO PAINT IN WATERCOLOUR
Painting Animals – Colour & Texture
PAINTING BIRDS | PAINTING INSECTS | PAINTING SEA CREATURES
Join us as we explore the animal kingdom in watercolour. Starting with the bird family, your teacher will support you using colour effectively. Next, you’ll explore the beautiful hues of beetles and butterflies and finally you’ll be capturing the majesty of a whale and the captivating beauty of an octopus. Immerse yourself in colour for an hour each week and develop your creative skillset.
THURSDAY 15TH JULY – 6:30PM GMT
PAINTING BIRDS – COLOUR & SURFACES
In this session you’ll be capturing the vivid colours of a parrot, flamingo and a cockerel. Your teacher will show you how to use colour effectively and you will explore the creation of texture with your paints.
THURSDAY 22ND JULY – 6:30PM GMT
PAINTING INSECTS – BLENDING & SHINE
This class captures all the beauty of the insect kingdom. As you paint beetles, butterflies and bumble bees, you’ll develop skills in colour blending and learn to create the illusion of shine on the page.
THURSDAY 29TH JULY – 6:30PM GMT
PAINTING SEA CREATURES – CONTRAST & TEXTURE
In this session your teacher Jan will support you in painting a whale’s tail and stunning octopus. From contrast to texture, you’ll come away with beautiful paintings and a better understanding of the use of light and dark in painting.
You will need:
- Pencil (preferably 2B or softer)
- Rubber
- Black pen or biro
- Paper towel
- Water
- Watercolour paints
- Paint brush (round and approximately size 10)
- Watercolour paper
- White wax. This could be a white candle, tealight or a crayon (OPTIONAL)
