DRAWING FRUIT | NUTS & SPICES | INGREDIENTS
Join us in developing your drawing skills. You’ll tackle the subject of still life, learning to draw classic subjects such as fruit and a beautiful series of nuts and spices. Whatever your experience, this series will help you to gain an understanding of composition, perspective and composition. You’ll be supported in a friendly, virtual environment and come away with a series of food related drawings.
MONDAY 8TH NOVEMBER – 6:30PM – 7:30PM UK TIME
Drawing Fruit – Positioning & Contrast
In this session you’ll learn to draw the classic still life subject of fruit. Starting with pieces of fruit on a table, you’ll learn to position your subject and draw its shape effectively. You’ll then move onto an assortment of different fruits in a paper bag, learning to position create contrast between the various surfaces.
MONDAY 15TH NOVEMBER – 6:30PM – 7:30PM UK TIME
Nuts & Spices – Negative Space & Mark Making
In this session you’ll explore a beautiful range nuts and spices. You’ll learn to use negative space to position star anise and develop a range of mark making techniques as you tackle the varying textures of a bowl of nuts. Finally, you’ll finish off with some pleasing shelves, full to the brim with herbs and spices.
MONDAY 22ND NOVEMBER – 6:30PM – 7:30PM UK TIME
Ingredients – Perspective & Proportions
This class will teach you all about working out proportions and how to create convincing perspective. You’ll begin with a display of fresh produce inspired by south American cooking before moving onto a number of bowls full of varied ingredients, developing your understanding of perspective and the creation of contrasting textures.
